Rotunda, Bohl combine for 36 points in Marauders loss to #16 Wolves

BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary sophomores Lauren Rotunda and Gabbie Bohl combined for 36 points against the rugged defense of #16 Northern State University in a 72-61 Marauders loss to the Wolves.
 
Rotunda exploded for 13 of the Marauders 19 third-quarter points. Trailing by 15 at the half, the Fargo, ND, native lifted the Marauders within 58-51. The seven point differential was as close as the Marauders would come the rest of the night. UMary also climbed within seven with four minutes remaining.
 
The Marauders shot just 35.7 percent from the field, making only 5-of-17 trey attempts. The Wolves connected on 49.2 percent of their field goal attempts, including a 6-for13 effort behind the arc. UMary was 10-of-14 at the line to the 4-of-7 effort by NSU but the Wolves dominated on the boards for a 46-29 edge in rebounds.
 


Rotunda scored 18 points, making 8-of-17 shots. She also had five steals and and two assists. Bohl added 18 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
 
Freshman Macy Williams hit two treys, scored 11 points, ditched four assists and made four steals while committing just one turnover for the Marauders (4-5 overall, 0-3 Northern Sun). Cassie Askvig had a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Sara Tvedt came off the bench to score 20 points for the Wolves (6-1 overall, 2-0 NSIC). She was 8-of-11 from the floor and had six rebounds. Jill Conrad paired 15 points and eight rebounds and Miranda Ristau had 10 points and six boards.
 
The Marauders next visit Wayne State College and Augustana on Dec. 8-9 before returning home to face Minot State University on Dec. 19.
