Marauder Women On The Road Against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston

This Week: The University of Mary Women's Basketball team makes their final road trip of the regular season as they take on Bemidji State University on Friday, February 12, before taking on the University of Minnesota, Crookston, on Saturday, February 13, to start a two-week rematch tour to close out the 2015-16 season.

The Records: The Marauders fought for the split last weekend as they defeated Minnesota State University but dropped the contest to St. Cloud State University for a 12-14, 6-12 NSIC record. The Beavers have won one conference game in their last eight outings as they own a 7-15, 3-15 NSIC record on the year, while the Golden Eagles have taken a split in the last four weeks for a 15-7, 12-6 NSIC record so far.

Last Week: U-Mary started off the weekend on the right foot as they took on the Mavericks last Friday and traded shots in the first half for a 40-35 lead. Defense took over in the second half as the Marauders held Minnesota State to nine points in the third quarter for a 58-44 lead and eventually cruised to a 79-68 win. Hannah Larson swatted away a season-high six shots one game after becoming U-Mary's NCAA era block leader and finished with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting. Brittney Dietz moved up another spot on U-Mary's all-time scoring list with 29 points in the contest as she surpassed Patti Mercer for fourth place. The Marauders also appeared to have the offense in gear for the game against the Golden Bears as U-Mary held a 44-36 lead at halftime, but Concordia-St. Paul turned on the jets in the second half and outshot the Marauders 71.3% from beyond the arc at a 60-31 clip to take the game at 96-75. Dietz finished with 28 points en route to her team-record third NSIC North Division Player of the Week Award on 10-for-23 shooting to go with nine rebounds, five assist and two steals, while Larson added 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal.

Magic Number: At her torrid pace of scoring, Dietz sits merely 84 points away from the top spot on U-Mary's all-time scoring list with four games to play in the regular season. She needs to average 21.0 points per game in the final stretch to become the Marauder's all-time leading scorer by the final home game on February 20 against St. Cloud State University.

Next Week: U-Mary makes their final homestand of the regular season as they host the University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State University for Alumni Weekend / Senior Night in the second half of their rematch tour.

History: The Marauders improved their record to 7-6 all-time against the Bulldogs after claiming victory back on January 23 in Duluth, Minn., but fell to St. Cloud State on the preceding night to put their record at 6-8 all-time against the Huskies.
