This Week: The University of Mary Volleyball team will wrap up the 2015 regular season on the road as they take on Bemidji State University on Friday, November 13, at 6:00 PM, before visiting the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, November 14, at 4:00 PM.
The Records: The Marauders (11-16, 5-11 NSIC) hosted St. Cloud State University and #10 University of Minnesota Duluth for the final home weekend as U-Mary honored the parents of the team and the departing seniors. The Marauders won in five sets over the Huskies for Parent's Night, but couldn't slow the Bulldogs for Senior Night on the heels of a three-set sweep. The Beavers (6-21, 4-14 NSIC) paid a visit to #4 Northern State and MSU Moorhead last week but couldn't find the winning combination in back-to-back three-set losses. Bemidji State did pull off the upset of Minnesota State University two weeks ago in a thrilling five-set win. The Golden Eagles (7-19, 3-15 NSIC) lost to both the Dragons and the Wolves last week that extended their losing streak to 11 matches.
History: U-Mary swept Bemidji State earlier in the season to gain the advantage on the series at 8-7 all-time with both teams trading matches back-and-forth for the past three years. The Marauders also snapped a five-match losing streak to the Golden Eagles with a five-set win back in September to improve their record to 5-10 all-time.
Last Week: The Marauders finished off the home portion of their schedule as they hosted St. Cloud State and #10 Minnesota Duluth for Parent's Night and Senior Night at the McDowell Activity Center. U-Mary found themselves in a two-set hole to the Huskies after struggling to slow St. Cloud State's attack at 25-18 and 25-22, but the Marauders buckled down and took sets three and four at 25-19 and 25-19 before scoring eight straight points in the final set en route to a 15-8 comeback win. The Marauders couldn't recapture the magic against the Bulldogs, though, as Minnesota Duluth proved their spot near the top of the conference standings with a convincing sweep at 25-12, 25-15, and 25-17 over U-Mary that spoiled the final home match for seniors
