This Week: The University of Mary Volleyball team kicks off their final two weeks at home starting with their High School/Middle School Night on Friday, October 30, against the University of Sioux Falls starting at 7:00 PM, followed by their Halloween Costumes Night on Saturday, October 31, against #4 Southwest Minnesota State University starting at 6:00 PM.

The Records: The Marauders (9-14, 4-10 NSIC) made the long trip south to take on #6 Wayne State College and #21 Augustana University, but U-Mary could not find the upset combination as they fell in both matches 3-0. The Cougars (11-12, 3-11 NSIC) started the season strong but have stumbled in conference play against top competition, but pulled off the split in the previous week as they lost to #2 Northern State University in five sets but bacme back and defeated Minnesota State University Moorhead in four sets. The Mustangs (19-3, 12-2 NSIC) have powered through their conference schedule and handed Northern State their only loss on the year so far with a five-set win last Saturday to cap off a perfect week as they defeated Sioux Falls in four sets and MSU Moorhead in five.

History: U-Mary has yet to win a match against both Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State as the series against the Cougars is relatively young with the Marauders dropping all four matches since 2012, but the Mustangs have a decided advantage as they have swept all 15 meetings between the teams.

Last Week: The Marauders went back out on the road after defeating Minot State University in four sets to take on #6 Wayne State and #21 Augustana as U-Mary had their work cut out for them. The Marauders stayed with the Wildcats as much as they could in the first set as Wayne State secured the set 25-19, but U-Mary eventually faded into the background as the Wildcats cruised to 25-13 and 25-16 wins in the second and third sets, respectively, and sent the Marauders back on the road empty handed. The match against the Vikings wasn't much better as Augustana took the first set 25-16, but U-Mary did fight back in the second set despite losing 25-20, yet couldn't find the hot hand as the Vikings clinched the sweep with a 25-18 win in the third set.
