This Week: The Marauders travel to Billings, Mont., to participate in the MSU-Billings Tournament. They will play MSU-Billings and Black Hills State University on Friday, Sept. 5, and they will wrap up the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 6, with games against Chadron State College and Minot State University.
The Records: This will be the first tournament for every team as all schools begin the 2014 season. Last year MSU-Billings finished 7-20 overall (4-14 in the GNAC), Black Hills State finished 8-21 overall (3-16 in the RMAC), Chadron State finished 6-23 overall (3-16 in the RMAC) and Minot State finished 12-18 overall (7-13 in the NSIC).
History: The Marauders are 2-2 overall against MSU-Billings with the last two meetings coming in 2009 which were split between both teams. Black Hills State holds the advantage in the lone match played against U-Mary in a 2012 tournament hosted in Spearfish, S.D. The same tournament also saw the previous meeting between Chadron State and U-Mary with the result going against the Marauders. U-Mary is 2-2 overall against the Eagles. Finally, Minot State currently holds the advantage over U-Mary with a record of 5-4 favoring the Beavers. The last time these teams played was in 2013 with both matches ending up with the Marauders on the losing side.
Last Year: The Marauders finished their 8th season in NCAA Division II with a 4-23 overall record with a 1-19 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate conference. They were led by a front four of Alexis Jacobs, Lauren Boldt, Allison Adams, and Paige Smith. All four averaged at least 1.54 kills pet set and helped set the foundation for the 2014 season.

Next Week: The Marauders return home to face the Univeristy of Jamestown on Tuesday, Sept. 9, before traveling to St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete in the Eckerd College Tournament on Sept. 12-13. They will match up against Queens Univ. of Charlotte, Eckerd College, Univ. of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras and Chadron State College.
