U-Mary Wrestling Hosts Minot State for Senior Night

LAST TIME OUT:
Facing No. 4 ranked St. Cloud State University, U-Mary was outmatched as it fell 39-6 on Saturday. Brock Krumm highlighted U-Mary's effort with a win over No. 7 Gabe Fogarty. Jonah Westbury rounded out the Marauders scoring with a 3-1 decision. The No. 4 SCSU sent out a total of four nationally ranked wrestlers. U-Mary was winless Sunday as it fell 46-6 to No. 7 Upper Iowa. U-Mary's only scoring of the day came as a result of UIU leaving 174 open.
 
THIS WEEK: U-Mary will take on in-state foe Minot State University on Friday night at 7 p.m. The match will serve as Senior Night for Marauders seniors Trevor Johnson and Brandon DeLao.

THE RECORDS: U-Mary has competed in eight duals and is 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC. The Marauders only win came in a 27-22 decision over Newman. Minot State is 1-12 oveerall and 0-6 in NSIC competition. MiSU's only win of the season also came against Newman University by way of a convincing 35-13 final.
 
RECENT HISTORY: The Marauders have defeated the Beavers each of the past two years. Last year U-Mary won 28-16, with Trevor Johnson, Brock Krumm and John Devito all picking up wins.
 
MiSU has struggled this season similar to U-Mary with its only win coming against the same team (Newman) that the Marauders defeated. Minot State faced the same opponents as U-Mary last weekend and suffered a similar fate. MiSU fell 30-12 to MSU Moorhead on Thursday, despite winning four of six matches. Tiger Paasch (174) has been the Beavers top performer earning 30 points in the teams 12 duals and holding a 15-15 record overall.

SO FAR THIS SEASON: U-Mary has competed in four open meets and eight duals. UM's only dual win came at the UCM Duals when it defeated Newman 27-22. Trevor Johnson, ranked seventh in the nation at 149, placed in both opens he has participated in, including a title at the Cobber open. Johnson is leading the team with a 14-4 record. Brock Krumm has a 10-10 record and is U-Mary's only other wrestler ranked regionally at No. 8 at 165.
