This Week: The University of Mary Volleyball team (4-21, 1-15 NSIC) finishes their final road trip starting with a visit to Mankato, Minn., on Friday, Oct. 31 to take on Minnesota State University. Then the Marauders will travel to St. Paul, Minn., to take on #3 Concordia University, St. Paul.
The Records: Minnesota State is 14-9, 10-6 NSIC; last week they dropped a five-set thriller to University of Sioux Falls, upset #8 Southwest Minnesota State, and then dropped a match in straight sets to Concordia-St. Paul. Concordia-St. Paul is 21-3, 14-2 NSIC; last week they won in five sets over #8 Southwest Minnesota State, won in four sets against Sioux Falls, and avenged an early season loss to Minnesota State in straight sets.
History: The Marauders are 0-10 against Minnesota State with a 0-3 record on the road. The Mavericks won earlier in the year in straight sets against the Marauders. U-Mary is 0-13 against Concordia-St. Paul with a 0-5 record on the road. The Golden Bears won the first matchup of the season against U-Mary in straight sets.Â
Last Week: U-Mary lost to Minnesota Crookston in straight sets on Oct. 24. Lauren Randall led the offense with 11 kills on 22 attacks, Janell Finkbeiner directed the offense with 27 assists, and the Marauders had 23 team digs over the course of the match. The Marauders then dropped a five set heartbreaker to Bemidji State on Oct. 25. Lauren Boldt had a team high 13 kills on 32 attacks, Finkbeiner recorded 31 assists, and Alex Brown anchored the back line with 21 digs. The Marauders then paid a visit to Minot State on Oct. 28, and dropped that match in straight sets. Kelsey Boyd had a team high seven kills on 22 attacks, Finkbeiner registered 16 assists, and Brown recorded her second game in a row with 21 digs.
