THIS WEEKEND
Making their first home appearances of the 2013 regular season after opening with six straight games on the road, the University of Mary women's soccer team hosts Upper Iowa University and Winona State University in a pair of Northern Sun contests this weekend. The Marauders first face the Peacocks on Friday, Sept. 27, at 3 PM. Following a day off, the Marauders conclude the weekend against the Warriors on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 PM. Both games will be played at the MDU Resources Bowl (formerly the Community Bowl).
THE RECORDS
The Marauders enter the weekend with a record of 1-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Northern Sun. U-Mary is tied for eighth in the NSIC with four points... The Peacocks are 4-1 and 2-1 to tie for 5th in the NSIC with six points... The Warriors are 2-2-2 and 1-2, tied for 10th in the NSIC with three points.
LAST WEEK
The Marauders closed out their non-conference schedule with a 2-0 loss at MSU Billings. U-Mary then returned to NSIC competition for the first time since the opening game. The Marauders captured their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory at the University of Sioux Falls. Unable to keep the momentum rolling, U-Mary lost 2-0 at NSIC-leading Southwest Minnesota State University the next day.
WELCOME HOME
This is the latest the Marauders have held their home opener since the start of the NCAA era in 2006.

The University of Mary opened this season with six straight road games, compiling a mark of 1-4-1. This is the longest Marauders road run since playing nine on the road in 2007-08. The Marauders had three postseason road games to close out 2007 before opening 2008 with six straight away matches. U-Mary lost all six games during the 2008 road stretch before going on an 11-4-1 run. Â

Marauders senior forward
Alex Bachman-Williams scored her 30th career goal in U-Mary's 3-0 win at Sioux Falls on Saturday, Sept. 21. Her second goal of the season, the Minot, ND, native becomes the ninth U-Mary player to reach that mark and the first to do so solely during the school's NCAA era (2006 and on). The last player to reach 30 goals was Jessica Janusz in 2008. Bachman-Williams is tied with Janusz (2005-08) and Laura Bartsch (1998-2001) for seventh all-time in goals with 30. Just ahead of her in sixth is Jazelle WIlliams (2001-04) with 31 goals. The Marauders all-time leader is school Hall of Famer Nicole Benedict (2002-05) with 66.
HELLO, MY NAME IS...
The Marauders have several new faces in the lineup this season. True freshmen making starts this season include
Michelle McGeary (six starts),
Zara O'Hagan (5), Meagan Searson (5), and
Alexis Nahring (3). Also, redshirt freshman Baley Bachman-Williams has six starts.

BUSY BUTTRON
Goalkeeper
Shelby Buttron has been kept busy this season. The Olathe, KS, native averages 7.2 saves/game, fourth in the NSIC and 21st in the NCAA. In her first season as U-Mary's starting keeper, she already has two shutouts and a 1.73 GAA.
