Yellowjackets Blank Marauders

Box Score Billings, MT – In their final nonconference game of the season, the University of Mary women's soccer team struggled to find an offensive flow in a 2-0 loss at Montana State University-Billings. The Marauders return to Northern Sun play this weekend.
 
The Yellowjackets held a 20-6 edge in shots attempted and a 12-2 advantage in attempts on frame. MSUB (1-0-1) also held a 6-3 lead over U-Mary (0-3-1 / 0-0-1 NSIC) in corner kicks.
 
Scoreless much of the first half, the Yellowjackets tallied first when
Heidi Greenback converted a penalty kick in the 33rd minute of the game. MSUB sealed its win when Teegan Koster took a touch pass and scored from ten yards out in the 82nd minute.
 
Alex Bachman-Williams, Andrea Muller and Zara O'Hagan each attempted two shots to lead the Marauders.
 
Making her first start for U-Mary, junior goalkeeper Bailey Wenz made 10 stops.
 
In its three non-conference road games over the last week, the Marauders scored just two goals, both against #24 Central Missouri. In four matches this season, U-Mary was held scoreless three times.
 
The Marauders, who opened the season with a scoreless tie in an NSIC match at  Minot State University, returns to conference action at the University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State University on Sept.21-22.
