Box Score Fayette, IA—Defensive struggles coupled with a hot hitting University of Upper Iowa (7-19, 3-13) was too much for the University of Mary volleyball team to overcome as it fell Saturday night in Northern Sun action. U-Mary was close in all three sets, but was ultimately swept 19-25, 22-25, 18-25.
Outside hitter
Lauren Boldt continued to be the teams most reliable weapon as of late. Boldt finished with 12 kills while hitting .381. Over the last four matches the junior is leading the Marauders with 44 kills.
Janell Finkbeiner paced U-Mary (4-19, 1-15 NSIC) offensive with 27 assists.
Alexis Jacobs had 9 kills and three blocks for the Marauders.
Melanie Behnke was a force upfront for the Peacocks finishing with a game-high 13 kills, while hitting .600.
U-Mary hit its fifth highest percentage of the season at .208. However, with 26 digs, U-Mary finished with its fifth lowest total of the season. The lack of digs coupled with a strong showing by led UIU led to the Peacocks hitting a season-high .341.
The Marauders will next be in action on Friday Nov. 8 as they take on the University of Sioux Falls on the road.
