Weekend Challenge Starts with Visit from 7th Ranked Central Missouri, Game Time Pushed Back

GAME NOTES

NOTE - TIME CHANGE: Game time for the Marauders women's soccer game on Thursday, September 6, against Central Missouri University has been moved back thirty minutes. Game time is now 7:30 PM at the Community Bowl. The game was originally set for 7 PM.

LAST WEEK: The Marauders Women's Soccer team opened
the season and a five-game home-stand with a decisive victory
over conference opponent Minot State University. The
game was a defensive struggle with U-Mary, led by senior GK
Ashley Akers, shutting out the Beavers in regulation to send
the game into overtime. A golden goal by Andrea Muller as the
first overtime was winding down gave U-Mary a 1-0 victory in
the opener. The sophomore forward found the net with just 44
seconds remaining in the first overtime to give new Marauders
head coach Sarah McNulty a win in her first collegiate game.

THIS WEEK: U-Mary continues its home-stand this week as
the Marauders host a pair of non-conference opponents, starting
with 7th ranked Central Missouri University (9/6). Central
Missouri was unranked entering the season, but after a 2-0
start the Jennies find themselves in the top 10. The Marauders
will finish up the weekend against Southwest Baptist University
(9/8), who is 1-1 on the year.

HISTORY: In 2007, the Marauders' first year eligible for NCAA
postseason play, U-Mary fell to Central Missouri University by
a score of 2-1. The Marauders have never faced Southwest
Baptist University.

ON DECK: U-Mary will wrap up its five-game home-stand next
weekend as they host a pair of conference games. The Marauders
start the weekend against Southwest Minnesota State
University (9/15) and wrap up with the University of Sioux Falls
(9/16).
