Peacocks Blank Marauders

Box Score Fayette, IA – For the second straight day, the University of Mary was unable to find an offensive flow. The Marauders managed just five shots in a 2-0 loss at Upper Iowa University.
 
Undefeated in conference play entering the weekend, the Marauders lost consecutive Northern Sun matches by 2-0 scores, including Saturday's game at Winona State. U-Mary slips to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa is 7-1 and 4-1.
 
The Peacocks put pressure on the Marauders immediately. After missing their first two shots, Upper Iowa found the net just 3:24 into the game when Jill Schechinger took a pass from the left side and scored from in front of the net.
 
The rest of the first half was fairly quiet as the Marauders Andrea Muller had the lone shot on goal for either team.
 
U-Mary's Dayna Domingo took the first shot in the second half but Upper Iowa took the next eight. The last Peacocks shot resulted in a goal by Lauren Rohrmeier with 20:01 left in the game.
 
The Peacocks claimed an 18-5 edge in shots but had just a 4-2 advantage in shots on frame. UIU also had all four corner kicks called in the game.
 
The Marauders return home to host nationally ranked Minnesota State University on September 29 at 1 PM.
