THIS WEEK: For the second time in three seasons the University of Mary will spend Thanksgiving in Lakeland, FL. The Marauders are set to appear in the 9th Annual FSC Ledger Media Group / Terance Hotel Tournament, hosted by the 22nd ranked Florida Southern College Moccasins. The Marauders begin the two-game set against the Pumas of Saint Joseph's (IN) College on Friday, November 23, at 5:15 PM ET / 4:15 PM CT. The weekend concludes against the host team on Saturday, November 24, at 7:30 PM ET / 6:30 CT. All games will be played in the Jenkins Field House on the FSC campus.
2012 FSC LEDGER MEDIA GROUP / TERRANCE HOTEL TOURNAMENT: U-Mary is one of four teams competing in the FSC Ledger Media Group /Terrance Hotel Media Group tournament. Joining the Marauders is fellow Northern Sun member St. Cloud State University Huskies, the Saint Joseph's (IN) College Pumas of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and host Florida Southern College Moccasins of the Sunshine State Conference.
FOLLOW THE FSC TOURNAMENT ONLINE: While there will be no local radio for the U-Mary games in Florida, Marauders fans will be able to follow the action online.

THE RECORDS: The Marauders are 1-1 after two non-conference games... The Pumas are 0-2... The Moccasins are 2-0.
LAST WEEK: The Marauders opened their home schedule with a 79-63 win over Mayville State University... The Pumas lost 69-54 at Hillsdale College before suffering an 82-65 loss at home against Lake Superior State... The Moccasins kicked off the regular season with an 86-75 win at Stillman College before an 86-72 home win over Puerto Rico - Bayamon on Tuesday.
LAST YEAR: The Marauders finished 8-18 overall and 7-15 in the NSIC... SJC finished 8-18 overall and 3-15 in the GLVC... FSC went 20-10 and advanced to the NCAA tournament after winning the SSC conference tournament.
HISTORY LESSON: U-Mary is playing both Saint Joseph's and Florida Southern for the first time.
HISTORY LESSON CHAPTER 2: The Marauders previously played in the Florida Southern in 2010. U-Mary opened with a 51-36 win over Saginaw Valley State on November 26, 2010. Eric Erdmann and Anthony Moody both scored 16 points.
Alex Dorr is the only current U-Mary player to score in the game, chipping in two points. The weekend ended with a 98-63 rout of UPR-Rio Piedras 98-63 on November 27, 2010, as Jordan Wilhelm scored 21 points. Dorr added five and
Jalen Jaspers had two.
THE OPPONENTS: The Saint Joseph's College Pumas (0-2) are making their fourth appearance at the FSC Tournament and first since 2009. Overall the Pumas are 4-2 at Lakeland, FL. Saint Joseph's returns four starters and eight letter winners. Leading the squad is SR G Damon Ellison, Jr., who averages 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while making 50 per cent of his shots. SO G Corey Clifton adds 12.0 ppg and 3.5 rpg while SR G Dayvon Sloan averages 10.0 points/game. Head coach Richard Davis is in his seventh season with the Pumas and twice has led the school to the NCAA tournament, including an Elite Eight berth in 2010... Florida Southern College has five players averaging double figures this season, led by SR F Brett Bailey at 15.5 ppg. JR G Dominic Lane averages 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. SR G Seth Evans is a deep threat and scores 12 ppg and sophomore guards Cameron Vines and Kevin Capers average 11.0 and 10.0 points per game respectively. Teams are shooting just 41 per cent against FSC and the Mocs force 21.5 turnovers/game.
OPEN DORR POLICY: Marauders senior forward
Alex Dorr is averaging a double double, leading U-Mary with 14 points and 11 rebounds per game through two contests. He has made all four of his free throw attempts and is 12-of-20 from the field inside the arc. A lifetime 43.5 per cent shooter on threes, Dorr is 0-for-8 on trey attempts this season.
DOUBLE DOWN: SR F
Alex Dorr set career highs in points and rebounds when he posted a double double in the 79-63 win over Mayville State University. Dorr scored 20 points and hauled down 14 rebounds. Both totals were also game highs. His previous bests were 17 and 13.
CLEANING THE GLASS: In the home win over Mayville State,
Alex Dorr nearly out-rebounded the Comets by himself. The senior forward hauled down a career-best 14 boards. The 11 MSU players combined for 17 rebounds. For the game the Marauders held a 34-17 edge on the glass in the 79-63 win.
CLEANING THE GLASS II:
Alex Dorr's 14 rebounds against Mayville State tied the best mark by a U-Mary player since the Marauders began NCAA Play in 2006-07. Zach Dosch registered 14 boards against Northern State on Feb. 14, 2009.
HELPING HAND:
Mike Johnson distributed nine assists in the Marauders win over the Comets. The nine helpers are the best for U-Mary since the Marauders started NCAA play in 2006-07. The previous team best was seven multiple times. The junior guard just missed a double double as he scored 10 points.
MR. PERFECT: Two games into the season and
Blake Maslonkowski is perfect from the field, making all seven of his field goal attempts. The sophomore forward hit his only shot in the season opener at UW-Milwaukee before exploding against Mayville State. Maslonkowski made all six of his field goal attempts against the Comets to score a career-best 14 points. The native of St. Joseph, MN, also had four rebounds in just 17 minutes of play.
HEATING UP: One of the top three-point shooters in the country,
Josh Turner put on a show early in the second half of the win over Mayville State. After missing all three of his attempts behind the arc prior to intermission, the senior guard drained his first four attempts of the second half in a span of under six minutes. Turner finished the second half 5-of-6 on trey attempts, with all 15 of his points coming after the break.
TWO NEW: The Marauders gained commitments from two high school seniors during the National Letter of Intent early signing period. Both team captains, Brenden Mann is a 6-2 guard from Littleton, CO / Chatfield HS. Damonta Henry is a 6-0 guard from Chicago, IL / Riverside Brookfield HS. Both will join the Marauders as freshman next fall for the 2013-14 season.
MARAUDERS-MINOT STATE GAME MOVES TO BISMARCK CIVIC CENTER ON DEC. 1: U-Mary opens its home conference schedule at the Bismarck Civic Center, arguably the premier basketball arena in the region, when the Marauders renew its long-time rivalry with Minot State University on Saturday, December 1. The women's game tips off at 5 PM and the men's game follows at 7 PM... Fans will be able to purchase a limited number of floor seats and courtside tables for the Northern Sun doubleheader. A table for four, which includes four game tickets and four sets of hot dogs, sodas and chips, is available for $125. Floor seats are $35... Tickets for the Marauders-Beavers basketball game are available at the gate. Adult tickets are $8 while seniors, college students and youth 18 years old and younger are $4. Children 5 and under are free... U-Mary and Minot State students receive complimentary admission into the game with a valid school ID...
