Box Score St. Paul. MN - A dreadful shooting night for the University of Mary women's basketball team contributed heavily in a 78-59 loss at Concordia University - St. Paul. The Marauders converted just 23.4 per cent of their shots from the field.
U-Mary (4-2 overall, 1-1 NSIC) pulled with 29-28 on a three-pointer by Shaunna Knife but a 9-0 run by the Golden Bears (5-3, 2-0) pushed the Marauders deficit to double digits. The Marauders could climb no closer than 12 points in the second half and trailed by as many as 27 points.
Laura Murray posted her second double double on the season for the Marauders. The junior forward matched 11 points with 11 rebounds. She also added three blocks. Murray was the only U-Mary player to reach double figures though all 12 Marauders that played scored. Kaitlyn Haag snared eight rebounds off the bench and added five points to help the Marauders hold a 47-43 rebounding edge.
Anika Whiting had a double double for the Golden Bears with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Rachel Hanson had a game-high 16 points and seven assists.
The Marauders return home to host Augustana on December 9 at the McDowell Activity Center.
