Box Score Mankato, MN - Facing a nationally-ranked team on the road for the second straight game, the University of Mary volleyball results were virtually identical as #20 Minnesota State rolled past the Marauders 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-21).
Against 9th-ranked Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, the Marauders (2-26 overall, 1-17 NSIC) struggled in the first two sets before nearly forcing a fourth set against the Mustangs. Today, U-Mary played another strong third set but couldn't prevent the sweep as the Mavericks (18-8, 11-7) pounded out 55 kills and hit .371 to 25 and .133 for the Marauders.
Allison Opp paced U-Mary with eight kills for the match. She also picked up 10 digs. One night after making eight blocks, Allison Adams had five kills and a team high three blocks (one solo, two assisted). Valerie Lesu made 12 digs to lead U-Mary.
Chelsea Fogarty led all players with 20 kills for MSU. Jill Storlie had 15.
The Marauders close out the regular season at home next weekend, hosting St. Cloud State on November 11 and Concordia University - St. Paul on November 12.
