Bismarck, ND - Julie Paradine posted a double double and Morgan Zabel was stellar at the net but the University of Mary was unable hold off hard-charging St. Cloud State University. The Huskies overcame a two-set deficit to claim a 3-2 (22-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-12) victory over the Marauders. This is the second time this season SCSU has overcome a two-set deficit to defeat the Marauders.

The Marauders (2-27 overall, 1-18 NSIC) would jump out to the early lead, taking nine of the last 11 points in the first set. An 11-4 run in the second set would propel U-Mary to a 2-0 lead entering intermission. SCSU (6-21, 2-17) would find its way in the third. Trailing 14-13, the Huskies would finish on a 12-2 run.

Hoping to finish the Huskies off in the fourth set, the Marauders went ahead 16-14. Eventually knotted at 17-17, SCSU scored the next two points and never trailed again to force a fifth set. Even at five apiece, the Huskies scored six straight points to take control of the set and pull out the win.

Paradine led the Marauders with 12 kills and also had 11 digs.

Zabel posted a second-high nine blocks, including two solo stops, to lead all players. Offensively she had eight kills. Lauren Boldt also was strong at the net, chipping in eight block assists and seven kills. Allison Opp had eight kills and 11 digs and Allison Adams had five assisted blocks and four kills. Morgan Dake added seven kills.

Valerie Lesu had a game-high 19 digs for U-Mary and also distributed four assists. Hailee Walsh led the squad with 27 assists.

The Huskies were paced by 24 kills from Jordan Hansen. She also had 13 digs. Mary Neuendorf had 14 kills and Ellie Dietzen added 12. Erin Ohlemann dished 51 assists to go with six kills and 16 digs.

Overall, the Huskies recorded 68 kills to 48 for the Marauders.

U-Mary closes out the 2011 season hosting #3 Concordia University at 4 PM on Saturday, November 12.
