Tate Barnhardt defeated a nationally-ranked wrestler to lead the Marauders to the program's biggest NCAA win and claimed two victories over conference foes to earn Northern Sun Wrestler of the Week honors. Â This is the second time Barnhardt has earned conference weekly honors in his career.

The native of Bismarck, ND, opened the weekend with a 5-4 decision over 5
th ranked Josh Walker of #9 Upper Iowa. With the Marauders trailing 10-0 after losing their first three matches, Barnhardt started the UMary rally with his upset win. The Marauders fought back to defeat the Peacocks 21-19 for the program's first-ever win over national power Upper Iowa.

Against #19 Minnesota State, the Marauders 133-pounder again earned UMary's first win of the day when the St. Mary's Central High School graduate defeated the Mavericks George Farmah 3-0.

Barnhardt improved to 12-2 this season. He is undefeated in four duals.
