University of Mary junior 
Tate Barnhardt defeated a nationally-ranked wrestler to lead the Marauders to the program's biggest NCAA win and claimed two victories over conference foes to earn Northern Sun Wrestler of the Week honors.  This is the second time Barnhardt has earned conference weekly honors in his career.
 
The native of Bismarck, ND, opened the weekend with a 5-4 decision over 5
th ranked Josh Walker of #9 Upper Iowa. With the Marauders trailing 10-0 after losing their first three matches, Barnhardt started the UMary rally with his upset win. The Marauders fought back to defeat the Peacocks 21-19 for the program's first-ever win over national power Upper Iowa.
 
Against #19 Minnesota State, the Marauders 133-pounder again earned UMary's first win of the day when the St. Mary's Central High School graduate defeated the Mavericks George Farmah 3-0.
 
Barnhardt improved to 12-2 this season. He is undefeated in four duals.
 
Previously Barnhardt claimed NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors on Jan. 30, 2017, after sweeping a pair of conference foes in home duals.
