The University of Mary Marauders

Deep into her final year on the court for the University of Mary Women's Tennis team, senior Sarah Janes garnered her first NSIC Player of the Week Award after her dominating performance against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
 
Janes was a perfect 4-0 between her singles and doubles matches as she led the Marauders at the number one spot in both categories on the weekend split. She teamed up with Meredith Holt to defeat Morgan Opp and Zoe Lindgren from Bemidji State University at 8-6 and followed up with a strong performance against Shaylin Prout in the singles competition for a 6-4, 6-3 win en route to U-Mary's narrow 5-4 loss to the Beavers.
 
Janes wasn't done on the weekend as she paired with Holt once again to power the Marauders to their second shutout of the year at 9-0 against the University of Minnesota Crookston with an 8-2 decision over Catherine Brown and Whitney Erickson. Janes finished her weekend with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-0 win over Brown in the singles competition and helped power the Marauders to a 6-10. 4-7 NSIC record for the 2016 season.
