The University of Mary Marauders

For two NCAA student-athletes and their cousin, the rigorous training is complete. The time to pedal across America has come. The Bike2Believe trio kicked off their cross-country adventure to raise $500,000 for cancer research and cancer awareness on Saturday, May 31, 2014, from the University of Mary.
 
U-Mary high-jumper Joe Berger, University of North Dakota football player Devin Coyle, and Brock Schauer, all Mandan, N.D., natives, begin their 2,500-mile trek at U-Mary before ending in St. Petersburg, Fla. So far, the three have raised over $130,000, including in-kind donations, for cancer research and treatment.
 
One highlight will be the stop in Indianapolis, the home of the NCAA.
 
Berger, who just completed his sophomore season for the Marauders and placed at both the 2014 Northern Sun's indoor and outdoor track and field championships, is double majoring in business administration and marketing at U-Mary's Gary Tharaldson School of Business. Coyle, a defensive back, just finished his redshirt freshman season at UND and is a business major. Both Berger and Coyle have earned academic all-conference honors.
 
The route will take them through Jamestown, Fargo, Minneapolis and Rochester, Minn.; Madison and Milwaukee, Wis.; Chicago, Indianapolis, Louisville, Ky.; Nashville, Tenn., and Atlanta, before reaching St. Petersburg.
