Elby Pope (WR, 6-0, 193, Jr., Grand Forks, N.D. / Red River) returned a punt 35 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the Marauders 34-27 victory at Wayne State College. With the score tied 24-24, the junior wide receiver found the end zone at 7:14 of the third quarter. For the game he returned three punts for 60 yards. It was the Marauders first downfield punt return for a touchdown since beginning NCAA play in 2006. For the year Pope is averaging 18.7 yards per punt return on six attempts. The all-conference receiver also had six catches for 82 yards.
Pope was named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts.
