The University of Mary Marauders

Shelby Buttron made multiple saves in overtime and backstopped the Marauders to a 0-0 tie at Minot State University in the season and Northern Sun opener for both teams. Facing the 2012 NSIC tournament champion and a squad picked to finish third in the NSIC in 2013, Buttron made three saves in the second overtime session to preserve the tie for U-Mary. She was knocked to the turf  in front of the net during that overtime scramble but managed to keep control of the ball. Playing in just her fifth career game for the Marauders, Buttron was credited with nine saves. This was her first career shutout.
