The University of Mary Marauders

This week's NDPF Male Athlete of the Week is Halen Knoll. Knoll earned his first start on the mound on Saturday and turned in a remarkable performance. Facing the #22 ranked and reigning NSIC Champion Minnesota State Mavericks, Knoll went the distance leading the Marauders for a complete game 5-2 win over MSU. Pitching only 77 total pitches through the seven innings, Knoll gave up just two runs on five hits while striking out three and walking one. Both runs he allowed came in the third inning to give Minnesota State its lone lead of the day at 2-1. Knoll retired 12 of the final 14 batters he faced in the game, allowing just one hit in the final four innings with the other baserunner reaching on an error. The hit came in the fifth inning but the runner was soon eliminated on a double play. Knoll is a junior RHP from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in his first year with the Marauders.
