This week's NDPF Male Athlete of the Week is Luke Tweeton. Tweeton along with Reece Barnhardt, Max Bruss, and Matt Kaylor qualified for the NCAA DII Wrestling National Championships this past Saturday at the Super Regional V in Aberdeen, SD. Tweeton defeated Augustana's Zach Peterson in his first match in a scrappy fight for a 1-0 victory. This advanced Tweeton to the semifinals where he took on Minot State's Jake Swirple. Tweeton secured a sudden victory win with a takedown in overtime. This sent the redshirt freshman to the region tournament championship at heavyweight and secured his ticket to nationals. Tweeton would fall to MSU's returning national champion Darrell Mason in a 1-0 decision. Tweeton, a redshirt freshman from Frazee, MN, was also named All-NSIC second team for the 285 weight class this past week.
