This week’s NDPF Male Athlete of the Week is Daniel Martin. Martin displayed great power from the left side of the plate in the Marauders Baseball team’s first games of the 2023 season. Martin doubled in his very first at-bat in the orange and blue and was brought home by Josh Walker along with Cal James to score the first runs of the season. In his second at-bat, Martin crushed a 2-run home run to right field to give the Marauders a 6-0 lead early over the University of Central Oklahoma. Martin scored another run Friday as UMary won its first game of the season Friday 10-4 over UCO. Martin had another strong day at the dish Sunday afternoon, going 2-5 with a home run, a double, 4 runs batted in, and crossed the plate three more times in the Marauders 16-6 defeat to the Bronchos. Martin is a junior outfielder from Langley, British Columbia, Canada.
