This week's NDPF Male Athlete of the Week is Laken Boese. Boese had a stellar performance this weekend earning 2nd place in the Elite 141 division at the Younes Hospitality Open. After receiving a first-round bye, Boese picked up a quick fall victory in just 1:28 over John Masopust from Colorado Mesa University. Boese then won by decision 4-2 over Ethan Leake of Chadron State before picking up another fall victory over Daniel DeRosier of Nebraska-Kearney 3:38 into the match. Boese battled closely with Nebraska-Kearney's Nick James, the 3rd ranked 141-pounder in the nation before falling in a 4-0 decision to earn runner-up and the UMary Wrestling team 18 points. Six other Marauders placed in the elite divisions at the Younes Hospitality Open, including Braydon Huber who also claimed a runner-up finish at the Elite 165 weight class.
