Marauders maintain grip on #11 in ACHA MD1 poll

UNION LAKE, MI – The University of Mary hockey team was only one of three teams to hold steady in the national rankings, maintain a grip on the #11 slot in the 2025-26 American College Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division 1 Ranking #8 released November 26. Among the 22 other teams in the poll, 13 moved up while nine fell from the previous ranking.

This is the second straight week the Marauders have been ranked 11th in the country and is the high-water mark for UMary this season.

UMary has slowly moved forward in the polls this season. The Marauders ranked 14th in the preseason coaches' poll and in the first two regular season rankings before jumping to #12 the next four weeks.

UMary is 11-6-0-0-0-1 (W-L-OTL-T-SOW-SOL) overall, 10-6-0-0-0-1 against ACHA MD1 teams and 3-2-0-0-0-0 in MCH play. Additionally the Marauders are 8-6-0-0-0-0 when playing nationally-ranked teams.

Against teams in the poll released November 26, the Marauders are 5-6-0-0-0-0. UMary owns wins at home over #25 Arizona State (2) and #2 Minot State University and road wins over #16 Purdue Northwest and #23 Grand Valley State University. The Marauders have lost on the road to #2 Minot State and #10 Calvin, at home to #5 Drury (2x) and #7 Jamestown and on neutral ice to #12 Utah.

With 14 games already played against nationally-ranked teams, the Marauders schedule doesn't let up. UMary's next four games – all on the road - are against ranked opponents as the Marauders visit #7 Jamestown (December 3 & 11) and #24 Midland University (December 5-6).

After a preseason poll and four regular season rankings determined by a coaches vote, computerized rankings started November 5 and will continue into February. The computerized rankings determine the 18 squads that will join six teams earning automatic qualifying bids to form the 24-team ACHA MD1 national championship tournament field and compete for the title in Centene, MO, in March.

The 2026 ACHA Men's Division I National Championships presented by FloHockey is set for March 12-17 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo. This will be the third year of the 24-team format.
