Burnsville, MN – After posting the nation's fastest time and setting a school record in the 1,500 meter run, University of Mary junior
Melissa Agnew was named the first Northern Sum Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week in 2012.
A six-time All-American, Agnew ran an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:26.80 in the 1500 at the American River Classis in Sacramento, CA. She broke the school record by three seconds and her time leads the nation by 4.41 seconds.
Agnew finished the day with an impressive effort in the 800 meter running, winning the event in a time of 2:15.52. Agnew's time was five seconds better than that of the runner up.
