A three-time All-American and a dominant player during one of the most successful eras in University of Mary women’s soccer history, Sarah (Cook) McNulty was a cornerstone on three straight national tournament squads.

A hometown product, Cook arrived on campus after graduating from Bismarck Century High School and quickly became a stalwart on the pitch for the Marauders in the midfield. As a sophomore in 2002, she was named team captain for the first of three straight years, earned NAIA Region 3 Player of the Year honors and was selected to the NAIA All-American third team as Mary finished 14-6-2. It was the first time Mary earned a spot in the NAIA national tournament. As a junior, Cook claimed honorable mention All-American honors after the Marauders finished the season 14-8-2, including a 3-1 win over Malone (OH) in the opening round of the national tournament. It was the first national tournament win in program history. Cook led the Marauders to a third straight national championship appearance as a senior in 2004 and a record of 15-7-2. She again received honorable mention All-American honors and was an All-Region selection for a third straight year.

While a player at Mary, the Marauders posted a winning season in each of her four years and were a combined 54-31-1. Individually Cook registered 11 goals, 35 assists and 57 points. She is second all-time in assists and 12th in points.

Now entering her fourth season as head coach of the Marauders women’s soccer team after winning two state high school championships at Century, Cook is twice a University of Mary graduate, earning a secondary education degree in biology (‘05) and a master's degree in Kinesiology - Sports and Physical Education Administration (‘15). The daughter of Jim and Lynn McNulty, she is the Region II Olympic Development Program Girl's Soccer head coach for 2003 girls and has earned both a USSF “A” License and Goalkeeping License. Married to Mary men's head soccer coach Dave Cook, the couple have a daughter named Emma.
