A four-time national champion, Mandy Schroeder-Sheldon was a leader both on and off the field during her career at Mary as she competed in three NAIA Track and Field National Championships and was instrumental in leading the Mary to four conference titles, two indoor and two outdoor. In the 1998 NAIA National Outdoor Championships, she captured the national championship in the high jump, placed second in the heptathlon, and was fifth in the 100 meters. She became the national record holder in the pentathlon high jump with a jump of 5-8.75 In the 1999 NAIA National Indoor Championships, Schroeder-Sheldon won national titles in the pentathlon, the high jump, and the 55 meter hurdles and was named the meet’s “Outstanding Performer,” leading her team to a runner-up finish at the event. A native of Mandan, ND, who began her college career at the University of Kansas, Schroeder-Sheldon was an 11-time NAIA All-American. She was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2006.
