University of Mary Athletics

A member of the first University of Mary wrestling team in 1987-88, Jerry Nagel proved to be a trailblazer for what would soon develop into one of the nation’s top programs. Competing at 177 pounds, the junior became the team’s first All-American when Nagel finished sixth at the 1988 NAIA national championships. It was the first of 75 All-American honors the Marauders would win competing in the NAIA.
