University of Mary Athletics

One of the founders of Marauders athletics, Dr. Tom Johnson played a key administrative role in the growth of the program from one team to as many as 19 during his tenure as Vice President and Academic Dean at the University of Mary that began in 1970. As Academic Dean, Johnson provided oversight over the athletic department. Named Professor Emeritus, he would continue to serve as the Faculty Athletic Representative as UMary made the move to the NCAA and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
