One of he most disruptive defensive forces in University of Mary football history, David St. Clair earned All-American honors and holds the school single season and career record for sacks while helping the Marauders reach the NAIA playoffs in both his seasons at UMary.
A native of Modesto, CA, and a Denair High School graduate, St. Clair transferred to UMary prior to the 1998 season and made an immediate impact. The defensive end posted 10 sacks and earned All-North Dakota College Athletic Conference (NDCAC) honors as the Marauders won the league title, advanced to the NAIA playoffs and finished 8-3 overall.
Year two with the Marauders was even better. Leading a defense that set a team record for fewest yards allowed per game (178), St. Clair posted a team-record 20 sacks in 1999. The Marauders, winners of another NDCAC title, won two playoff games and became just the second UMary team to reach the NAIA semifinals, earning a spot in the Marauders Hall of Fame. St. Clair was named to Don Hansen’s All-American 1st team and received 2nd team All-American status from the NAIA. Also an All-NDCAC performer for a second straight year, St. Clair is the Marauders career sack leader with 30.
The son of Willard and Ellen St. Clair, Davis is the owner of Carpet Man Pro Flooring in Turlock, CA. He is married to Victoria Young.
