A four-year starter at quarterback who led the Marauders to the NAIA semifinals,
Chris Schwab is a native of Bismarck, N.D., Chris is one of three children of Denny and Renee Schwab. He graduated from St. Mary's in 1996, where he led the football team to a state title and also played basketball. He stepped into the starting role for the Marauders as a freshman in 1996 and led U-Mary to three NAIA playoff appearances, three winnings seasons and two North Dakota College Athletic Conference titles, and posted a record of 30-15. A two-time All-NDCAC performer, he was the league most valuable player as a senior in 1999 when the Marauders finished 11-2 and made the NAIA final four. During his time at U-Mary he played for three different head coaches: Tom Shea, Dale Lennon and Myron Schulz. In his career, he passed for 7,786 yards and 73 touchdowns on 607 completions, all school records until surpassed by
Craig Bagnell this past season. A 2000 graduate of U-Mary with a degree in business, Schwab is a member of the Marauders Hall of Fame. After earning a chiropractic degree in 2008, Chris now operates Schwab Family Chiropractic in Bismarck. Married to Jami, the couple has three children, Natalie, Bridget and Luke.
