Special Team

Two of the most impressive team accomplishments in school history earned the 1995–1996 and the 1996–1997 University of Mary wresting squads admission into the Marauders Hall of Fame. Under the direction of Head Coach Milo Trusty, the Marauders claimed second place at the NAIA national championships in consecutive seasons.

Behind a second straight national championship by Mike Seeger and runner-up finishes by Shannon Johnson and Joe Tezak, the Marauders tallied eight All-Americans in 1996. Joining Seeger, Johnson, and Tezak as All-Americans were Wayne Harvison (7th place), Jason Huber (5th), Dan Hughes (7th), Curt Reeff (7th), and Kurt Snyder (3rd).

The Marauders grapplers were even more spectacular in 1997, bringing home two national champions and nine All-Americans while scoring more team points than the previous season. Tezak and Hughes both claimed individual titles, with Hughes defeating teammate Scott Owens in the heavyweight championship match. Other All-Americans were Justin Currie (5th), Jeff Enzminger (3rd), Harvison (3rd), Huber (8th), Seeger (6th), and Wagner (6th).
